Sport-study program in boxing
To combine boxing and an academic path
In place since 2009, the Club de Boxe de l’Est’s sport-study program allows high-school students (and CEGEP students for elite athletes) to combine their boxing goals with their academic goals, while prioritizing academic success.

Approved by the Fédération Québécoise de Boxe Olympique, the Club de Boxe de l’Est program is led by a group of coaches with the highest technical certifications in Canada.

- Coaching certification from the Coaching Association of Canada (CAC) and its National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP)
Each year, around twenty young athletes train in our facilities through this program. They can take part in Olympic boxing competitions once they reach the required level. The Club de Boxe de l’Est’s sport-study program has helped develop several Canadian champions over the years.
Philosophy of the sport-study program at the Club de Boxe de l’Est
The selection and evaluation of participants are not based on natural ability or athletic results. They are based instead on the attitude and behaviour demonstrated. In particular, participants must embrace several key values of combat sports, including discipline, respect, healthy lifestyle habits and sustained effort.
No student is required to fight a bout. The recreational stream (no contact to the head) is chosen by the majority of students.
Registration details
Registration in the program includes:
- A one-year membership at the Club de Boxe de l’Est (recreational or competitive member, depending on the profile)
- Registration with the Fédération québécoise de boxe olympique
- Payment of the coaches and specialists required during the year
- Competitive boxer’s passbook (competitive stream only)

The cost of the program is available in the contract for the current school year.
Personal boxing equipment is not included in the cost of the program. An affordably priced starter kit is available at the Club de Boxe de l’Est for sport-study program students.
Registration in the program is done by contacting the chosen school directly.
